"Franchise Four" Winner

Blue Jay fans in 2015 voted Joe Carter as one of their "Franchise Four" as the most impactful players who best represented the history of their baseball team.

No Blue Jays fans will ever forget him jumping with joy after his walk-off home run off to end the 1993 World Series. Carter anchored the lineup in the No. 3 and No. 4 spots in the batting order for the two championship teams.

This original 1986 drawing of Cleveland Indians player Joe Carter was used for the program cover of the local sports writers' banquet honoring Carter as Tribe Man of the Year for 1986.

Joe Carter spent his early major league days with the Cleveland Indians (1984 - 1989) and was named their Man of the Year for 1986, his best season in the majors. Playing on a mediocre Indian team, 26-year old Carter collected 200 hits, 26 more than he would garner in any other campaign. He batted .302 with 29 homers, 121 RBI, 29 steals, 36 doubles, nine triples, 108 runs scored, and a .514 SLG mark. He split time between the outfield and first base.

Carter later helped the Toronto Blue Jays win two World Championships in 1992 and 1993

Artwork is autographed in pen by Joe Carter.

Sports cartoonist Dick Dugan's caricatures and cartoons of notable sports figures are in the permanent collection of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

It is from this original drawing that the image was reproduced in banquet program.
