TOM EVERHART

A New View for
the “Peanuts” Gang

Tom Everhart is the only artist ever authorized to use the “Peanuts” comic strip characters created by Charles Schulz in fine art paintings and lithographs. A long-time friend of Schulz, Everhart discovered while experimenting with images of oversized “Peanuts” characters projected on a studio wall that the cartoonist’s pen strokes amazingly translated into perfect painterly brush strokes. Convinced that the stylistic renditions of his characters were so true to form, Schulz gave Everhart his blessings and a new look for the “Peanuts” cast was born.
Everhart, a native of Washington, D.C, began his career painting nature-related scenes. As a freelance project he began working on drawing special projects for Schulz and United Media (Schulz’ cartoon distributor) both in New York and Tokyo. His works soon expanded to include covers and interiors of magazines and the majority of the Met Life advertising campaign. His fine art “Peanuts” related paintings have been exhibited in Paris at the Louvre, in Tokyo, and at major American art museums.
Imagine Snoopy speeding down the highway to work in his convertible after a fun-filled weekend: you have imagined the Everhart impressionistic painting entitled “Monday Morning.” This and other “Peanuts Paintings” are skillfully reproduced as hand-pulled lithographs, one color at a time, on century-old French presses (which once produced classic French posters). “Ace Face,” “Undercover in Beverly Hills,” and other pieces in The Snoopy By Everhart Collection make lively focal point accent artwork where family and friends meet. As an authorized Everhart dealer, the Art-cade can special order any artwork that is still available at the publisher.
