Rube Goldberg's Golf Rube Goldberg Giclee on paper Rube Goldberg in the early Twentieth Century believed that there were two ways to do things: the simple way and the hard way and that a surprising number of people preferred doing things the hard way. Even today, through his creative “Inventions,” Goldberg’s drawings depict absurdly connected machines functioning in extremely complex and roundabout ways to produce a simple end result. Goldberg’s cartoons were, as he said, symbols of man’s capacity for exerting maximum effort to accomplish minimal results. Because of this, Rube Goldberg has become associated with any convoluted system of achieving a basic task. Four beautifully reproduced examples of Goldberg’s work are available and are done as limited edition giclee prints. These works of art will strike a deep and lasting chord with today’s audience, caught in a high tech revolution but still seeking simplicity.
