Here's the ultimate fantasy ship. The inhabitants of the Great Kettles (the setting for Dean's story, The Great Kettles: A Tale of Time) await the arival of Spring when the Beacon of Winter is replaced with the warm Summer Sun. It is the job of Maura Bump and her vessel the G.K.S. Lightship to see that the golden amber ball is fixed radiantly in the sky and that the long-awaited Spring arrives.
