July Gallery Show: 8th ANNUAL "The Art of Dr. Seuss" in Williamsburg
Check out some of the art categories below to find artwork just for you!
No other form of art captures the spirit of the late Nineteenth Century than the stone lithographs that appeared in the weekly opinion journals of the period such as "Puck" and "Judge." Not only did artists like Joseph Keppler and Frederick Opper understand the political environment of the day, but they understood the artistic techniques of stone lithography to produce beautifully executed pieces of art.

Even though their cartoons were created for a "throw-away" journal, the copies of their work that survive today stand the merits of being supurb artistic creations.

All stone lithographs presented here are ORIGINAL and VINTAGE saved directly from the original publication. There are NO reproductions. These stone lithographs all of are "fine" or better quality. The double page cartoons do have the inevitable fold through the middle, but in most cases is not noticeable.

The Art-cade Gallery continues to add either images or listings of additional stone lithographs when they become available. Please return to this site to see what is new.
