This is the original cover artwork for F. vanWyck Mason's novel about the Civil War, "Proud New Flags." Mason's historical writings about war capture the life under trying conditions the same as Kass' paintings portray those times. Kass is a prolific illustrator of art for book covers.
This acrylic on board painting leaves room for the printer to add the title, author and other type which appears on the book jacket. Framed with a brass name plates which cites the book title and illustrator. |
