Original artwork from the Comic Strips Newspaper comic cartoons are a uniquely American creation. Unlike motion pictures, television programs, or stage plays a daily cartoon is the only medium where a solitary person writes, produces, and stages an entire story without the help of a large production crew – all in three or four small panels! Few cartoonists saved their original artwork at the time of publication making the surviving originals of this classic Americana art form most collectible. And because there was only one original created for each day’s newspaper installment, those individuals today who “own a piece of our history” have something no one else will ever have.
