Rip Van Winkle
Richard Masloski
Bronze

Sculptor Richard Masloski portrays Washington Irving's story about Rip Van Winkle in this striking bronze. Everything from his tattered and wrinkled clothes, his overgrown beard and nails, to his toes showing through his aged shoes are vividly portrayed by Masloski.

A larger-than-life, 800 pound version of this bronze was commissioned by the Village of Irvington (NY) and is proudly located in a public park on Main Street. Irvington -- where the story took place -- was named after the famed author. The dedication took place on September 21, 2002.

This smaller version of Rip Van Winkle makes a perfect room accent for American literature and history buffs.
